About the road

About Iona Road

Iona Road is a road of Edwardian red-brick houses, mostly semi-detached, with a few terraced and end-of-terrace homes. Sizes run from 154 to 231 m², and most have four bedrooms, with some up to six. Many keep period features such as fireplaces, cornicing and bay windows. Most are well kept, and a few have been extended or have a converted attic. Several houses are attributed to the builder Alexander Strain.

Iona Road is a tree-lined road in Glasnevin with resident permit parking on-street and bus services on the road. The National Botanic Gardens, Griffith Park and Glasnevin Cemetery & Museum are nearby, with Drumcondra Village, Drumcondra Station and the Phibsborough Luas stop a short walk away. Dublin City University, TU Dublin Grangegorman, the Mater and Bon Secours hospitals, the city centre, the M50 and Dublin Airport are within easy reach.
